About Hunter Davis

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my psychotherapy practice. I'm so glad you're here! If you found yourself on my website, that tells me you probably have aspects of your life that you're dissatisfied with and are ready for a change. I'm a mental health therapist (LCMHC and LPC), certified clinical trauma specialist (CCTS-I), and addiction specialist, who's dedicated to helping people achieve a higher sense of well-being and inner peace.

I provide therapy exclusively via telehealth to adults (18+) living in North Carolina and South Carolina. I like to focus on treating presenting concerns related to: ADHD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, mood disorders, OCD, polyamory & alternative relationship structures, relationship issues, and trauma/PTSD.

I especially enjoy working with people who have experienced unhealthy relationship patterns, and I have a special interest in breaking trauma bonds and recovery from narcissistic abuse. I have a passion for empowering people to set boundaries, assertively communicate, and self-advocate. Other special focuses include topics related to: attachment styles, home/work life balance, nervous system regulation, parenting styles, people pleasing tendencies, perfectionism, self-worth, and stress management.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my son, friends, and family. I'm always down for a boat day or a beach day and love everything about summer weather - water sports, concerts and live music, exploring new restaurants, and football games. Lately, my new interest has been exploring different yoga practices and somatic practices.

In my opinion, finding a therapist who's a good fit for you is one of the most important steps in therapy. Starting therapy is essentially investing in yourself, and you deserve to begin your healing journey with a therapist that best aligns with your needs. This is one of the reasons I offer a free 10-15 minute phone consultation - we can get acquainted with one another and I can answer any questions you have!
