Approach

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, supportive, strength-based, and eclectic in nature. I realize no two people are the same, and therefore customize my therapy to meet the unique needs of each client.

I incorporate a range of cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and mindfulness-based modalities to formulate the best combination of therapeutic tools for each person. The methods I use will depend on the client's needs, problems, treatment goals, expectations, and motivation. All methods I use are evidence-based, meaning they are supported by research and proven to be effective.

Below you will more information on a few of the common therapeutic approaches I draw from.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that focuses on modifying negative or irrational core beliefs. This approach rests on the idea that thoughts and perceptions influence behavior.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

The message at the heart of DBT is acceptance and change. This approach focuses on teaching 4 core skills: mindfulness, acceptance & distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy

MBCT is a combination of CBT, meditation, and mindfulness principles & practices. This approach seeks to improve emotion management, mood regulation, and mindset through teaching self-awareness, grounding, and attuning with your body & mind.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

SFBT incorporates positive psychology principles & practices to help achieve & sustain behavioral change. Rather than focusing on the problem itself, this approach concentrates on finding pragmatic solutions for present problems that are conducive with your hope for the future.
